Kevin Dundon’s Bio 2025

Kevin Dundon is the man at the helm of the award-winning Dunbrody Country House Hotel & Restaurant, located on the dramatic Hook Peninsula in County Wexford, Ireland’s sunny Southeast.

Established by Kevin and his wife Catherine in 1997 Dunbrody Country House has long been regarded as one of Ireland’s top destinations for food-lovers.  After 25 years of business, the hotel went through a full refurbishment of the bedrooms, suites and public areas in early 2022 with a focus on traditional and luxury feel with modern facilities.

Arguably one of Ireland’s best-loved and most recognised chefs, Kevin can usually be found busy at work in one of Dunbrody House kitchens, the cookery school, online, and on many daytime TV shows in Ireland, USA, and Canada.

The dramatic coastline and plentiful local supplies are key in providing his culinary inspiration but having his own kitchen garden and orchard are the icing on the cake!  Add his own truffle trees and you get an idea of just how passionate he is about locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients.  Reflected in all of Kevin’s cookbooks is his passion for this wonderful indigenous produce.  Kevin considers himself spoilt with the positive bounty of fresh seafood, meat producers and fantastic fruit and vegetables literally on his doorstep in Ireland.

In January 2025, Kevin started as a contestant on the series of Dancing with the Stars Ireland on RTE One.  Kevin loves challenging himself and pushing his skills as far as possible while enjoying the novelty of learning new dances every week with pro dancer Rebecca Scott.  He’s proving a huge hit with the public who simply adore his positive attitude and willingness to throw himself into something so utterly outside of his comfort zone.

“Under the Grill” podcast is Kevin’s latest media enterprise where celebrities join Kevin is own kitchen to cook and eat their favourite nostalgic dishes and chat about the food and why it means so much them.

5 days per week, Kevin presents on his Instagram, Facebook and Tiktok @kevindundon a daily online show “Kevin at 2pm”. A short daily cook-a-long for everyone, where he shares simple recipes with interactive relax chats all along.

Kevin is also a great supporter of food festivals and conferences; whose message is to spread the word of good quality local food to make delicious simple dinners.
