Hanna Bäckmo is an award-winning beekeeper, entrepreneur, and sustainability advocate based in East Cork, Ireland. Originally from a small island near Gothenburg, Sweden, she moved to Ireland in 2001 with just a rucksack and a sewing machine. After nearly two decades designing wedding dresses, Hanna transitioned to full-time beekeeping in 2018, driven by a desire to support pollination in her garden and a growing passion for bees.
