Eric Ryan is a distiller at Midleton Distillery, where he has worked in a variety of roles across brewing, distilling and maturation. A previous recipient of the Scotch Whisky Association Award for the IBD Certificate in Distilling, Eric holds an MSc, with distinction, in Brewing and Distilling from Edinburgh’s Heriot-Watt University, where he was awarded the 2013 University Prize.
A founding member of Cork Whiskey Society (est. 2013), Eric served as Secretary for seven years. As an amateur historian, avid Irish whiskey collector, and regular contributor to Irish Whiskey magazine, Eric has a special interest in the heritage of Irish whiskey.
Eric works closely with the maturation, blending, and marketing teams, with a specialist focus on maturation and brand innovation for the extensive portfolio of Irish whiskeys within the Irish Distillers portfolio.
