Colm is the wine teacher at Ballymaloe Cookery School and was previously head sommelier in Ballymaloe House where he was recipient of Food & Wine Magazine Sommelier of the Year.

Colm and his wife Aoife run the pop-up wine shop in the Grainstore at Ballymaloe ('the little pop-up wine shop, a lockdown legacy’, open every Saturday afternoon!) They run the Drinks Theatre events at Ballymaloe which hosts wine & drinks events throughout the year. They have a schedule jam packed with all things wine and drinks over the course of the Ballymaloe Festival of Food weekend.

Colm & Aoife have a small organic vineyard (as mentioned in British Vogue!) planted with hybrids, in Shanagarry where they live, joining the ever growing number of Irish Vineyards.

Colm works on the trade / wholesale side of the wine business with his role with the specialist wine merchant, Le Caveau.
